Can I use fresh flowers at my Beach Wedding?

How long is a Celebrant-led Beach Wedding in Cornwall?

The time will vary depending on which rituals you include in your wedding ceremony. Most ceremonies with a ritual or 2 will be about 30-40 minutes.

Because your ceremony won’t last very long, it's not necessary to put out chairs. You guests can also stand for the wedding ceremony if they are able but do. Of course your guests could sit on blankets on the sand too!.

Fresh flowers are not really suited to a beach wedding as they can be too delicate. A strong breeze will blow your petals away. Using a few hardier flowers (or even a few silk blooms) with lots of wild foliage for your bouquet or in any carefully placed areas is a better option as the sun, wind or rain will not damage them as easily. Your flower crown can also be made using silk flowers so you will look beautiful the whole day!

The best time or season for my awesome Beach Wedding?

What should I wear for my Beach Wedding or Elopement?

For Summer, c hoose a low-cost, light and floaty chiffon or cotton, shorter styled dress to keep you cool on the day. This will be more affordable than a big long elaborate traditional dress which is not suitable for the beach. For Winter, choose warmer fabrics, shawls and cover-ups. If you get cold, you can layer a wrap, shawl or a pretty cardigan over your outfit. Men could wear simple lightweight shirts, shorts, trousers or suits for summer and warmer, thicker outfits for winter months. Whatever the season, always choose a dress/suit that is easy to move or climb around in or carry it down onto the beach and change after the climb. Veils are not always practical when walking or climbing so flower crowns are an excellent choice. They are more natural and suited to an outdoor beach wedding. Updo’s work well with flower crowns too. A lot of brides don't want their hair blowing over their faces all day. Use practical footwear for safety. Heels are not suitable for your walk in but you could carry them and put them on later.

The best time for a beach wedding is early in the morning & late in the evening, when the beach is usually quiet and the natural light is not too harsh for softer lighting and usually, out of season would have less crowds. During the Spring/Summer months, the weather can be hot. During Autumn and Winter, the days start shortening and early mornings and evenings are chilly. Most popular beaches tend to be extremely busy during the summer at sunset. Beach ceremonies are best in the quieter off-season months. If you are planning a Spring/Summer Wedding, think about having a late sunset or moonlit ceremony to avoid crowds. The weather would usually still be fairly warm. Daylight hours are most popular so you can enjoy the view in all its glory! Sunrise and sunset times, along with tide times, weather forecasts/warnings will also be checked. Whatever time of the year you visit, please don’t forget things like suncream, water, shelter, clothing, jumpers or lightweight cover-ups.

Jo and Patrick are incredible! From the moment I received Jo's super enthusiastic response to my initial enquiry, brimming with her ideas, I was sure I'd picked the right photographers. We really don't like being in front of a camera but had such a fun day climbing down cliffs and almost getting caught out by the tide. And then the photos themselves!! They are all works of art! We were there when they were being taken and yet I still don't know how they did it. We love them, absolutely love them and could not recommend Jo and Patrick more highly.

We couldn’t ask for a better wedding photographer... Her free spirit and amazing personality made us feel relaxed and comfortable. We got all what we were hoping for and more!! Our love and happiness were captured in the beautiful photos and we can’t stop smiling every time we see them. It brings back memories of how magical and special our wedding was... there is just not enough words to recommend Jo and Patrick

Let's be honest, most of us are not very comfortable in front of the camera. Our 6am sunrise shoot on the beach was the best fun we have had in ages; we laughed from start to finish and poor Jo and Patrick ended up absolutely soaked! Fantastic fun and OMG ...absolutely stunning photos! If you want some truly amazing and completely unique pictures then you definitely need Jo and Patrick..they are brilliant and crazy but in a whole other league when it comes to photography! (if you want dull and traditional...use someone else!)
